Giving new life to a well worn pair of Picos with Freya Agnes

I first purchased a Pico crop top when I was 18 or 19. I felt pulled towards Pico because of their sustainable practices and working hard to eliminate any waste in the making cycle. I felt confident I was putting my money where sustainability was at the heart of the business.

I was also drawn to Pico because they’re organic and I have a skin disease called Psoriasis. This was a catalyst which enabled me to think how can I nurture my body . One avenue was with organic underwear so that anything that was touching my skin was soft and safe .

I then started to show love and appreciation for my friends by buying them underwear and it became quite a thing that I would buy my family and my friends pico underwear for their birthdays and that felt really loving. When I was 21 I started by investing in more pieces of Pico for myself.

I was lucky enough to be able to get a pair of pants that was a co-creation between Kathery Davey and Pico. I have had them for many years now - they’re starting to have a bit of a hole in because I wear them so often . I also purchased a five pack of Pico’s and they’ve only just started to become threadbare as I have put them through some serious heavy use. I’ve had them for about five years now and I have decided that it’s time to think of another way I can use them. I don’t want to throw them away because I don’t want to contribute to waste and I’m not ready to let go of these pants I’ve had for so many years . So that relationship will continue to evolve.

I’ve used them to clean my plants , to dust my room and to freshen things up . I’m thinking, maybe I can clean my shoes with them could I create a little pillow with them and so there’s lots of options are floating around my head.

Freya is a recent graduate of International Relations. She lives in Snowdonia National Park and enjoys being in nature and moving her body. Currently in a life transition, she enjoys finding peace in the present moments.
