DESCRIPTION

A small handwoven, loose weave, organic cotton towel with tassels. Soft, textured and lightweight making it perfect companion for travel or at the sauna.

• 100% organically grown Kala (desi) cotton

• approximately 70cm x 145cm plus tassels (this can vary due to the handmade nature)

• un-dyed with a dark brown border and stripe, the colour is derived from catechu natural dye

• the hand-weave can sometimes have loose threads - the irregularities and colour differentiations within the delicate weave makes each piece unique and is a reminder of the handmade process and natural materials used

CARE

• machine wash on a gentle cycle 30°

• please note there will be some shrinkage after first wash as the towel is woven with raw cotton. Stretch out flat when drying.

• line dry

STORY

Produced in collaboration with Khamir , a cooperative whose work supports ecology heritage and craft in Western Gujarat. Each towel is handwoven in the weavers’ homes using organically and locally grown Kala cotton. Kala is a desi variety of cotton, native to the Kachchh region, which has naturally adapted to its dry and arid climate over thousands of years. Read more about Khamir here.
